Charley Boorman Book Tour

Charley Boorman has had a packed schedule of events this spring, following the January publication of his Canadian adventure book, Extreme Frontiers. Kicking off at Waterstones Bluewater before Christmas, Charley has energetically signed and talked his way around branches in Staines, Bournemouth and Nottingham.

Madeleine, the Junior Press Officer at Sphere, travelled to Guildford in the freezing cold last Saturday morning for Charley Boorman’s latest signing event, at WH Smith. Vines, the BMW dealership in Guildford , were supporting the event in a big way, and had sent a huge bike down to Smiths, which by all accounts posed quite a challenge to the WH Smith staff. However, they managed to install it comfortably upstairs by the signing table, where it sat, looking suitably daredevil.

Charley had a hectic programme of bike-related activity that day, starting at Vines, who had their season launch and were cooking up a hearty breakfast for all visitors. Madeleine met Charley at WH Smiths, where there was a good turn-out of Extreme Frontiers fans! The staff were very charming, and had a long photo session with Charley and the bike at the end of the event. Then Charley was off on his bike again for the BMW Motorrad UK Event in Bracknell.

Coming up in Charley’s calendar is Essex Book Festival on March 13^th and a talk at Jarrold’s Norwich on March 16^th , WH Smith Milton Keynes on the 17^th March, Waterstones Liverpool on the 19^th March, and a talk at Bookmark, Spalding on the 20^th March.
