Eleanor Moran's new novel Breakfast in Bed has been receiving rave reviews; from book of the week in Now "The perfect recipe for a compulsive read', to 4 star reviews in the Sun's Buzz Magazine: 'Eleanor Moran serves up a witty treat as chef Amber has an affair with her new boss – a head chef who makes Ramsay look like a limp lettuce leaf' and 4 stars in Heat ' 'It's chick-lit, but of the funny, honest variety. A warming read – and if you like cooking, there's plenty of that, too!'
We are so pleased that we have gone out and bought a lovely Fortnum and Mason’s Ladies Hamper, so one lucky winner can enjoy Breakfast in Bed in true style.

one of the lovliest things to eat is a delicacy only found along the Moray Firth. It is a buttery and was invented for the fishing boats to take to sea with them. Toast it and have with butter, jam or marmalade. It makes a French croissant taste like cardboard. Oh and none of the imitations you can buy in the deep south from m and s etc will be remotely like those made at the local bakers, anywhere between Cullen and Aberdeen. Go North for a buttery quest – also known as Rowies in Aberdeen.
Here in Northumberland, it is a Stottie Bread. Round and flat, cut in half and filled with bacon, fried eggs and mushrooms. Not exactly healthy but nice for a treat.
As I cannot have any gluten, my favourite breakfast since finding gluten free oats is porridge with syrup!! Porridge must be made with milk though.
It has to be a full english with black pudding, local bacon and sausages, free range eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, and fried bread. Yum yum.
