Little, Brown is delighted to announce the acquisition of PUDSEY: MY AUTOBIDOGRAPHY, the official memoir from the canine half of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent winners Pudsey and Ashleigh.
Publishing Director Adam Strange acquired world rights in a deal with Pudsey and Ashleigh’s manager, Jonathan Shalit.
Pudsey: My Autobidography will be published under the Sphere imprint this autumn.
Astonishingly, it is believed to be the most lucrative book contract ever agreed between a publishing house and an animal.
Simon Cowell famously predicted Pudsey would become the world’s most famous dog after the six-year-old and owner Ashleigh Butler, 17, thrilled the nation with their amazing dance routines and the incredible bond between them.
Now Pudsey’s amazing book contract will mean the four-legged friend, who has captivated the nation, has taken another huge paw step in making that prediction come true.
Pudsey’s exclusive story will tell of his troubled beginnings as a young puppy who always felt a little different to his siblings and how he eventually found himself on stage winning the nation’s hearts and wowing a peak audience of more than 14 million at the final of Britain’s Got Talent.
Telling it directly from the dog’s mouth, Pudsey will spill the beans on the twists and turns that have bought him to where he is now: how he first persuaded his best friend
Ashleigh that he was a dancer at heart, how various furry friends conspired to help him realise his dream of making it onto the small screen…and into Simon Cowell’s heart.
Adam Strange says: ‘I’m thrilled to be publishing such a unique story. We all know Pudsey’s an amazing dancer, but it’s been a delight to discover that he’s a great raconteur too. His route to the top has been unconventional to say the least, so I’m delighted to be working with him to reveal it to his army of fans.’
Pudsey says: “This is no shaggy dog story. I’m telling it like it really was and you’ll have to be barking mad not to want to read it.”
Jonathan Shalit, who also represents stars including Myleene Klass, Kelly Brook and X Factor judge and pop star Tulisa Contostavlos, says ‘Pudsey has a terrific tale to tell and I’m sure his book will set tongues wagging around the world.”
