We are delighted to announce that Shahriar Mandanipour won the Year Award at the Muslim Writers Awards for his novel Censoring an Iranian Love Story

Translated from the Farsi by Sara Khalili, it is his first full-length novel to be published in the UK.  In Iran he has won numerous awards for his novels, short stories and non-fiction, although he was unable to publish his fiction between 1992 and 1997 because of censorship.

The novel garnered lots of praise when it was published. The Daily Mail said ‘this important, timely novel is sharp and playful and zesty with life’.
